"Chalk Hand Lettering" font

This is a true vintage font, as true as vintage fonts get…it’s in very few places in the world that schools and classrooms still host black boards and chalk writing, most of which have given way to white boards with markers. The modern counterpart is of course much more convenient and much less messy...but it lost that so fashinating feel of the chalk!

However, like all things vintage, blackboard and chalk have left a legacy of their own. Writing with chalk required slow and pronounced writing, leading to quite a different ‘handwriting’ on the board when compared to a person’s handwriting with pen.

This painstaking process became an art form in its own right, the Chalk Hand lettering Typography, as were also street artists who made pavement sketches with chalk and charcoal!

We bring to you the Chalk Hand Lettering font, which will delight you with fonts in line with the chalk writings on blackboards of yesteryear classrooms. Use them wherever a vintage font is the call of the hour.
